Vintage 1940s Marhill Blue Marbled Lucite Compact Photo Trinket Box Vanity MCM

Elegant and rare vintage powder compact from the 1950s, made of marbled lucite/resin in delicate aqua and blue tones. The lid is decorated with a 3D floral arrangement in embroidered threads and small textile roses. The box opens to reveal a photo album owners card and fold out photo album. A compact mirror could be added to this box easily, if you wanted it for powder. The surface has some patina and light signs of wear, as shown in the pictures, consistent with age and authenticity. The overall impression is very good – this is a beautifully preserved antique object with soul. This type of powder compact is highly sought after by collectors of vintage makeup and vanity items, but it also works wonderfully as decor. Equally beautiful on a dressing table, in a glass case, on a dresser – or mounted as wall art in a deep wooden frame/shadowbox, where the details really come into their own.
