Melissa Shirley 536 Rooster Pillow Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvas 20" Vintage

A beautiful Melissa Shirley Designs hand painted needlepoint canvas, design #536 Rooster Pillow, featuring an impressive country rooster surrounded by a richly detailed floral and garden border. The large central rooster is painted in warm rust, gold, deep blue and green tones against a pastoral landscape with a small farmhouse, rolling greenery, blue sky and clouds. An elaborate border completes the design with sunflowers, stylized flowers, trailing foliage and a harvest basket motif, giving the canvas a wonderful American country and folk-art character. At nearly 20 inches square, this is a substantial statement-size needlepoint design intended to create a generously sized decorative pillow, although the finished work could also be professionally framed or incorporated into another textile project.
