Antique French opera glasses crafted from brass with elegant mother of pearl iridescent inlays. These theater binoculars feature a classic collapsible design with a central focusing wheel and are marked Le Souverain Paris on the eyepieces although there is a lot of wear. The bridge is engraved with May Albee, adding a touch of personal history to this Victorian-era accessory. The brass shows a rich, aged patina with some verdigris, and the iridescent shell panels exhibit beautiful pink and green lusters typical of authentic abalone or nacre. The left lense is damaged and there is no visibility on this side. Shattered gold can be seen inside the left lense.
