Kagura dances were originally performed by ancient people wishing for good health and rejuvenation of the soul, and it is said that these soul-calming and spirit-shaking rituals are the origin of various Shinto ritual arts.
The heads are made by creating molds from clay, carefully layering Japanese paper, applying a mixture of gofun (powdered oyster shell), and then coloring them.
The bodies have a bamboo frame with Japanese paper pasted on them.
Since there is wire inside the body, it can be bent into any desired shape. (See the 20th image)
*Persimmon tannin is used as an insect repellent.
Please understand that these are handmade items.
