Vintage Handmade Carved Wood Heart-Shaped Trinket Jewelry Box Rustic

This charming handmade box came from an now-closed independent shop called The Linen Closet in Kernersville, NC, which opened in 1966. It features beautifully carved stylized floral and foliate scrollwork across the removable lid. The dimensional carved deign is framed by an incised heart-shaped border, while the interior features a raspberry-pink felt lining that's removable to reveal a rich brown wood base.  This is a substantial little box with a lift-off lid with no hinges or hardware. The underside retains its original store label, providing a wonderful piece of local retail history. The maker and exact age of this piece is not known.  It's ideal for storing jewelry, trinkets, coins, keys or other small items and would look nice displayed on a dresser, counter, shelf or as an accent piece in any room. It measures 4.5 long by 4.5 wide and 1.5 deep.  It is in good vintage condition with expected signs of age and use including ight surface scratches and scuffs. small nicks and rub marks, minor finish wear and variation, small specks or debris visible within some of the carved details, surface wear and marks to the underside, age-related wear to the original retail label on underside and a few specks on removable lining.
