Sakamasa Craft Kanto Wazo Urawazo Small Item Rod Midori Ken Dashi Mouth Wrap 3 Shaku 1 Sun Cut 13 Shaku 3 Sun 13 Sections
Sakamasa Craft - Kanto Wagao - Urawa-do - Small Fish Rod - Sheepshead Rod - Green Lacquer Finish - 13 Shaku 3 Sun Cut - 13'3 (399cm) - 13 Sections - Shibu Bamboo Grip - Tanago Rod - Wagao - Small Crucian Carp Rod
This is a Sakamasa rod, but please note it is from a different rod craftsman than the Sakamasa of Seiun Bamboo, and the branding iron mark is also different.
The green lacquer finish on this rod is exceptionally beautiful. The rod stopper is also made of luxurious patterned bamboo.
This is a rare Urawa-do rod that has been unused since purchase.
In the past,
Urawa was close to the Arakawa River, and abundant high-quality bamboo could be harvested along its banks.
While Kawaguchi rods are famous in Kanto Wagao, Urawa also had master craftsmen, and their rods were called Urawa-do.
Among them, Sakamasa was an exceptional craftsman.
Sakamasa's Wagao have a unique action, possessing the necessary characteristics for small fish rods, distinct from hera rods.
The craftsmanship is extremely meticulous, using old arrow bamboo,
and the rod's action is a soft action, similar to the small fish rods of the third generation Sanjii.
This rod allows you to enjoy the thrill of interacting with small fish.
Although it is a small fish rod, it is also suitable for targeting small crucian carp (kinbuna).
We also recommend it as a sheepshead rod (tanago rod).
This Sakamasa rod is original except for the rod bag.
Sakamasa's rods have a unique mark in addition to the branding iron mark (rod joint scratch mark = rod joint mark - Ha).
On the rod being offered, each section has:
A branding iron mark and the rod joint scratch mark - Ha at the handle.
The same rod joint scratch mark - Ha from the butt section to the tip.
This can be confirmed in the product photos.
There is no mark on the rod stopper.
It is the same as the Sakamasa rod stoppers in our collection, so it is original. It is made of luxurious patterned bamboo.
There is no deformation or cracking at the ferrule.
As it has been unused since purchase, the rod's bend is within the natural range for bamboo.
Unfortunately, there is no original rod bag, but a matching rod bag is included.
